Founded at Auburn in 1879, the Alpha Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Tau Omega is the second oldest fraternity on Auburn’s campus, giving it a very rich history. With such distinguished alumni as William J. Samford and Sheldon Toomer, ATO has been firmly rooted in the heart of Auburn for over a century. We have grown substantially in the past few years, with a current total of 116 active brothers, making us the 5th largest fraternity on campus. Even with our continual growth in numbers, we still maintain the same close relationships within our brotherhood that we did as a smaller fraternity.
At ATO, we strive to build our brothers into better leaders and, ultimately, better men. As a result of this, we have won numerous IFC awards, including the James E. Martin Award, presented to the most outstanding fraternity on Auburn’s campus, three out of the last four years. We have also garnered recognition from our national office, receiving the True Merit Award, given to the most successful ATO chapters nationally, for the past three years. In addition, we have won the SGA Spirit Competition, three out of the last five years, giving us excellent block seating for Auburn football games. In the fall, our brothers finished first in grades among Auburn fraternities. We pride ourselves on our achievements, but the most important aspect of Alpha Tau Omega remains our strong brotherhood.
Alpha Tau Omega has brothers involved in almost every organization on campus; the current IFC President, Matt Carlisle, current UPC President, Charles Hession, and the President of the War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen, John Sasser, to name just a few. At least one ATO brother has served on the IFC Executive Board for the past six years, and we have had brothers on IFC Cabinet and IFC Judicial Board as well. We also have brothers actively involved in SGA, UPC, Camp War Eagle, Student Recruiters, IMPACT, Tiger Hosts, club sport teams, and almost every honor society at Auburn.
ATO has provided me with an incredible experience, just as it has for countless men before me. Whether you are interested in ATO as a rushee, parent, or an Alpha Epsilon alumni looking to reconnect, please feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
John Jackson III
