As a chapter, Alpha Tau Omega believes in being a part of something bigger than ourselves. For this reason, we encourage our brothers to be involved on campus and within the community. ATO has members that are a part of SGA, IFC, War Eagle Girls and Plainsmen, campus ministries, and nearly every major organization on campus. Our brothers not only participate in these organizations, but lead them. ATO has brothers that are currently holding or have recently held the positions of SGA President, SGA Senators and Cabinet Members, Head Camp War Eagle Counselor, and several executive positions for IFC, including the current Administrative Vice President.
Although campus involvement in important to the chapter, we also recognize the need to give back to the community. For this reason, ATO sponsors and participates in several philanthropy events each year, including our annual charity golf classic and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament that we host with Alpha Delta Pi sorority. On an individual basis, brothers volunteer for many organizations and causes. In 2010, one brother was the Director of SGA’s Big Event, the largest community service project in area, and for each semester of this past school year, an ATO was named the volunteer of the semester for Auburn. Our brothers love Auburn, are proud to be a part of it and for these reasons, we choose to actively engage our campus and community.
